Alice is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) with a wealth of training and behavior modification experience. She has more than two decades of experience training dogs and has worked both privately and in classes with owners. Alice graduated with distinction as a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP), and is also a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT).

 

Having worked with many dogs who struggle with anxiety and fear issues, She specializes in personalized training packages for puppies and dogs who struggle with reactivity/aggression and other fear-based behaviors. Additionally, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), she prioritizes compassionate and respectful communication with the humans at the other end of the leash.

Alice has extensive experience teaching reactive-dog classes and obedience classes and leading routine playgroups for both big and small dogs. She is adept at reading dog body language and managing multiple dogs safely, ensuring that all humans and animals are learning and having a good time. Alice gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and hands-on training skills working as the Lead Shelter Dog Trainer at Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). There she worked on a daily basis with an immense variety of breeds, ages, types, and sizes of dogs, ranging from huge Great Danes and strong Pitbulls to tiny Dachshunds and Chihuahuas.

 

Alice is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and earned her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University. She works with people to decrease anxiety and depression, and increase joy and functioning at DOT Center. With her Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnomusicology from UCLA, Alice also brings creativity and sensitivity to working with people and dogs. She enjoys using her people and dog skills to help owners live happier and less stressful lives with their dogs.
